Together Making Lives ‘Even Better’ : Lake District National Park recycles its uniforms with ROB.

Updated: Nov 28, 2018

October 2018

ROB has recently transported around 100kg of recycled uniforms ( including jackets, trousers, and fleeces) from the Lake District National Park ( www.lakedistrict.gov.uk ) to Kilimanjaro.

We have donated these to the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project ( KPAP)

https://kiliporters.org/ who work to support the fair and ethical treatment of porters in Kilimanjaro. They run several clothing loan stores where porters come to borrow appropriate clothing to keep them warm and safe whilst working on the mountain.

Richard Leafe, Chief Executive of the Lake District National Park said: “We are delighted to be be working with ROB to able to recycle our uniforms and kit out porters at another national park. The clothing is still in great condition and we are grateful to ROB for making sure its gets to those in most need’.
