From Porter to Culinary Star: Asha Juma's Inspiring Journey to Mountain Chef Excellence
In 2016, Asha Juma was working as a porter and kitchen assistant for the African Walking Company. She became the first woman to be awarded a ROB Scholarship to undertake her mountain chef training and, since then, her career has flourished. She is now recognised as one of the best chefs on the mountain. In December 2025, she was awarded the 'Best Chef of the Year' title by the Intrepid Travel company! Congratulations, Asha!
